Danielle and Peter had been planning a vintage-inspired engagement shoot on Peter's grandfather's farm for weeks, but Missouri's notoriously fickle weather was conspiring against us. We originally were scheduled for Sunday afternoon, which was a wet one. We rescheduled for Wednesday and for a while, everything looked it was going to work out. The forecast for afternoon rain sat at 10% for most of the day, with a storm scheduled to arrive later that evening. We got about 20 minutes of shooting in before the sky opened on us.

This next one would look even better at about 11"x14"...

Waiting in the tall grass for Danielle to change into boots.

I'm all about shooting in tall grass these days.

This is about the point in the shoot where it started raining. Such troopers. I was hanging out under an umbrella while they're trying to continue smiling in less-than-ideal conditions. The rain was light at this point, but it picked up soon enough.

We found shelter and waited to see if the rain would pass. When the theme of the shoot is rustic/outdoors, there isn't a lot you can do but wait and hope the rain passes. A quick check on the iPhone told us that 10% chance of precipitation had jumped to 70%. Things were looking dim. We shot a few photos on the porch and then at the edge of the barn before calling it quits for the day.

More from this couple soon!
