Erin + Ed | Majestic Colonial Wedding Photos

Well, faithful blog readers. I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is this is Ryan Gladstone Photography's last wedding of 2011 and there won't be any new work on the blog for a few months. The good news is that we're going out in style with Erin and Ed's destination wedding at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! These two St. Louis residents tied the knot a few weeks back on a perfect late-November day in front of two dozen of their closest family and friends.

I started my coverage on Friday, documenting the welcome party thrown by the groom's family. Oh, yeah, it was on a boat. Check it out:

Greetings from paradise!

The happy couple

First item on the agenda: a leisurely cruise up the coast.

snorkeling break off the coast

Largest inflatable slide in the Caribbean, says Jules the cruise director.

The crew lead the party in a few dances.

The "natural pool," complete with a floating bar.

The gang does a shot of mamajuana, a popular drink made with red wine, rum and honey soaked in tree bark and herbs.

I'll take your word for it.

The next morning, I checked in with Erin and the Ed ahead of their afternoon ceremony.

Ed puts on his U.S. Marine Corps watch, a gift from Erin.

What is the name of this instrument?? Awesome, regardless.

Erin, Ed and their guests celebrated with a champagne toast shortly after the ceremony.

After wrapping up the beach shoot (and running out of light), it was time for the reception.

Thanks for hiring me to document your wedding, Erin and Ed. And to your friends and family — thanks for being so friendly and inclusive. You all are great!
